Whirlwind of mystery and romance
Colleen Hoover’s “Verity” is a wild ride from start to finish. As soon as I started reading, I was hooked by the plot.
While the characters felt very realistic, they also embodied an aura of secrecy (making for an experience that differed significantly from your typical romance novel). I found myself completely intrigued by their lives, at times rooting for them, empathizing with them, and most often questioning their motives.
One of the things I loved the most about this book was its ability to keep me guessing. Every chapter unveiled a new layer of intrigue, leaving me eagerly anticipating what would happen next. Spoiler alert: even when you finish the book, you still won’t be 100% certain of what actually happened. I’m curious to know what “theory” you will believe in the end …
Overall, this book is a must-read for anyone who loves a good mystery. Be warned, there are a lot of rather steamy scenes (a bit too many for my goody-goody type). But despite this, I promise that once you start reading, you won’t be able to put it down!
