Banana bread

Yield: 2 loaves

I N G R E D I E N T S

  • 4-6 overripe bananas
    (mashed)
  • ¾ cup melted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

R E C I P E

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two loaf pans with butter and line with parchment on top.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork.
  3. Place the bananas in the bowl of your standing mixer. Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until combined.
  4. Add the baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Mix until combined.
  5. Add the flour gradually. Mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Divide evenley into the loaf pans.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes, until a toothpick comes out mostly clean and the tops are golden brown.
  9. Let cool for 10-15 minutes then remove from the pan by pulling up on the parchment paper.

T I P S

  • You can substitute the brown sugar for maple syrup (about 3/4 cups).
  • For this recipe, I used 6 overripe bananas and the bread turned out very gooey (which I personally like). But if you prefer a drier loaf, feel free to use less bananas!
  • Don’t forget to customize your bread with any kind of nut or different kinds of chocolate!
