  1. In a small pot, mix the sugar with 1 cup of water.
  2. Heat the mixture on HIGH and stir until the sugar is dissolved. As soon as the mixture reaches a boil, take the pot off the fire and set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Roll the lemons on the counter to soften them. Cut each lemon in half and squeeze into a big bowl (you should get about 1 and 1/2 cups of fresh lemon juice).
  4. Pour 7 cups of cold water into a large bowl or dispenser. Add into the lemon juice and mixture of sugar and water.
  5. Serve in your favorite pitcher and don’t forget to add some ice cubes!

  • Use a lemon squeezer in order to remove the seeds (if you prefer to squeeze by hand, you can strain the lemon juice into a second bowl to remove the seeds)
  • Make this recipe in double and use large glass jars to store it in the fridge for the week.

Nothing is better than lemonade in the summer, especially if it gets as humid as it does here in Montreal. I find that I am always dissapointed by the lack of natural lemonades at the grocery store. Trust me, you will never go back to store-bought lemonade after tasting this homemade lemonade!
