My favorite part of the day was opening my advent calendar. As the ultimate chocolate (and Christmas) fan, my mom was the one who started the advent calendar tradition in our family. I love the little thrill of finding the right number and wondering, “What’s behind it this time?” And, of course, Lindt chocolate never disappoints (it’s truly the best). Eating it always brings back memories of my time living in Switzerland. Funny enough, this particular calendar, though bought at the Lindt store in Montreal, was made at the Lindt factory in Kilchberg, Switzerland—just a few streets away from where we used to live! This little ritual reminded me that even the smallest things (like a tiny ball of chocolate) can carry so much meaning: family traditions, places I’ve called home, and the magical countdown to Christmas.
